Over the years, we’ve developed a process to help job seekers without requiring them to invest a ton of their time.
If you work with a recruiter at Bloomfield, the process will look something like this:
First contact! If both parties are interested, we’ll set up a quick phone call to discuss your career and your job search.
If we have any openings that match your preferences, we’ll set up a longer interview and ask you to submit a brief questionnaire so that we can fully understand your career priorities.
With your explicit permission, we’ll collect references and submit you to roles that could be the right fit.
You’ll interview with clients, and we’ll be there to prepare you every step of the way.
We’ll help you negotiate any offers, including compensation and benefits.
If we place you in a role, our relationship doesn’t end there! We’ll be there to help with any bumps along the road, whether they come in a few days or a few years.
Throughout this process, we’ll be focused on finding the right fit for you—not the easy or convenient one. Above all, we respect your time as much as our own. That’s why, if we don’t have any roles that are a match for you, we may pause our contact.
What to know about Bloomfield:
Our services are free to you—we do not charge job seekers for any part of the job search process, even if you are hired. We receive 100% of our payment from the client.
We only focus on permanent placements—we do not place job seekers in part-time, temporary, or temporary-to-hire positions.
We do accept unsolicited resumes via our “Job Seekers Form” linked below; however, the volume of unsolicited resumes we receive prevents us from responding to each and every inquiry. That being said, we will contact you if and when an appropriate opportunity arises.
Tips for working with a recruiter
Open, honest, and frequent communication is key.
Triple-check your resume for errors—this includes checking for grammar, formatting consistency, and accurate dates of employment.
Never embellish degrees or credentials.
Ask questions! Reach out so we can address any confusion.
Audit your online brand—update your social media, check Google Images, etc. for anything you wouldn’t want a potential employer to see.

We aren’t able to post every job opportunity we have, so to find out if you’re a match for any of our additional roles, contact us through our online form.

Sometimes! Some clients ask that we administer various exercises, or they will administer tests themselves. For example, a writing intensive position may require a brief writing exercise, and an administrative position may require Microsoft Office testing.

No, we do not accept payment from job seekers. Our clients engage us in extremely specific searches, so while you are free to share your resume with us, there is no guarantee we will be able to assist you.

We do not currently offer resume review or interview coaching.

While we are a Washington, DC-based recruitment firm, we also source for remote roles in addition to hybrid and in-person roles across the United States. Our recruitment locations often vary based on which opportunities are currently available.
