Q: How do you charge for your services?

Our fee structure depends on the engagement and is discussed during the initial consultation. We are transparent about costs from the beginning and will walk you through our pricing before you make any commitment.

Q: Do you guarantee your placements?

Yes. We stand behind our placements with a guarantee period. The terms are outlined in our service agreement.

Q: Do you work with small businesses or only large organizations?

We work with organizations of all sizes, from solo executives who need a trusted right hand to large companies building out departments. We also serve private families and high-net-worth individuals. What our clients have in common is that they care about getting the hire right.

Q: Can you help if I'm not sure exactly what role I need?

Yes. In fact, this is often where we are most useful. Many clients know they need help but are not yet sure what the role should be called or how it should be structured. We help define the role before the search begins.

Q: Do you only place full-time, permanent staff?

Yes. We focus exclusively on permanent, direct-hire placements. We do not provide temporary staffing or contract support. That focus allows us to invest fully in finding the right long-term fit.

Q: What areas of the country do you cover?

We are based in the Washington, DC metro area, but we serve clients and place candidates across the United States. Geography does not limit our search.

Q: Are there searches you don't conduct?

Yes. If a search falls outside our expertise, or if we do not believe we are the best firm for a particular need, we will say so. We also work only with employers who are committed to equal employment opportunity and to following all federal, state, and local employment laws.

Denise Bloomfield founded the firm in 1994 with a simple belief: recruiting should be done with more care, more judgment, and more accountability than most firms were offering. Too many firms were treating placements like transactions. Fill the role. Collect the fee. Move on. She believed clients and candidates deserved more. She thought they deserved better.

That belief still shapes every search we take on today. Our administrative and professional recruiting professionals take on fewer searches so we can give each search the attention it deserves. We learn how our clients operate before we review a single resume. We stay involved after the placement, because the real test of our work is not whether a role gets filled. It is whether the hire works, lasts, and makes a difference.

How We Work

Every search begins with a detailed conversation about the role, the working environment, and what has not worked in the past. From there, we conduct a focused search using our network and direct outreach to qualified candidates, including people who are not actively job hunting. We present a short list of strong candidates and stay involved through interviews, offers, and onboarding, ensuring total collaboration throughout the process.

Founder / CEO

Denise founded Bloomfield & Company in 1994 with a mission to elevate the client and candidate experience. She focuses on getting to the root of client needs and candidate aspirations, and finds deep fulfillment in mentoring her team's growth and development.

Greg Keller

Chief Operating Officer

Greg joined Bloomfield in 2012 and oversees all operational aspects of the business while leading searches with select clients. He previously served as Vice President of Hedge Fund Research at Northern Trust. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and Northeastern University.

Andrea Asbell

Sr. Vice President, Executive Recruiter

Andrea has been with Bloomfield since 1998, collaborating with clients and candidates across all practice areas. She began her career at Lincoln Property Company managing corporate concierge and tenant relations programs. She is a graduate of Shepherd University.

Brittny Seidman

Sr. Vice President, Executive Recruiter

Brittny joined Bloomfield in 2005 and works across all practice areas. Prior to Bloomfield, she worked in healthcare sales at a prominent DC-based consulting company. She holds a degree in Communications & Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University.

Ariel joined Bloomfield in 2018, collaborating with clients and candidates across all practice areas. She previously spent seven years in operations and recruitment in New York. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence University.

Carly joined Bloomfield in 2023, providing executive administrative support to Bloomfield's President. Prior to Bloomfield, she worked as an Executive Assistant at a renewable energy company. She is a graduate of Clemson University.

Hannah Jane joined Bloomfield in 2022, working with clients and candidates across all practice areas. She developed a strong foundation in human resources through her work at Target Corporation. She is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington.

How long does a typical search take?

There is no standard timeline for a search. It depends on the complexity of the role, how specialized the requirements are, the strength of the candidate market, and how quickly decisions are made. We will give you a realistic expectation at the outset based on the specifics of your search.

Yes. Family offices are among our most longstanding clients. We place the full range of roles that family offices require – from executive assistants and office managers to estate managers, personal assistants, family office executives, and financial staff. We understand that family office searches often require an added layer of discretion and judgement, and we approach them accordingly.
